Dear audience,

the time has come: Next Wednesday, 13th of August, marks the start of the 37th edition of Tanz im August, a festival at HAU Hebbel am Ufer. You can look forward to an exciting and very diverse festival programme until 30th of August!

This year, it unfolds like a tectonic landscape: where different artists, ideas and audiences meet, shifts and changes occur; new landscapes emerge and perspectives change. Where there is friction, there is warmth – which energises us and invites mutual exchange. Tanz im August 2025 opens up spaces for new perspectives on choreography, movement and cultural practices – turning dance into a resonant field for urgent social questions and bold aesthetic visions.

A total of 20 productions await you at 10 venues in Berlin – including Alte Münze Berlin, HAU1, HAU2, HAU2 Studio and HAU3, Haus der Berliner Festspiele, Radialsystem, Sophiensæle, St. Elisabeth-Kirche and Tempelhofer Feld. The works include 3 Premieres, 10 German Premieres and 5 Berlin and international co-productions.
